Handmade Tiles

All of our products are made to order. That means we do not hold stock of any color or format, including our best sellers.

We suggest ordering 15% overage. This will help offset loss of material during the cutting and installation process. It is much more costly to order extra tile rather than plan ahead and give yourself some spares in the case you need them.

Our tile is approximately 3/8” thick.

No, each color is specified as either gloss, matte, oxide, or metallic and cannot be modified for a different finish.

All of our formats allow for any finish (including gloss) to be used on the floor. As a general rule of thumb, gloss will be more slippery than other finishes, but because there will be regular grout joints throughout the flooring, our formats meet the slip coefficient for flooring installation.

Yes, our tile is suitable to conditions -20 degree Celsius.

Yes, some of our tiles are suitable for pools, spas or fountains. Please check the specifications to see if the tile you’re interested in is suitable for that application. Glazes that are sensitive to acidity or chemicals are not suggested to install in wet areas with regular chemical cleaning.

If you notice more small surface cracks over time (crazing) that is totally normal. Crazing is a natural process in our tiles and is part of the handmade beauty of the tiles.

Samples

All of our colors are available in our standard sample format HS11 (4”x2”) through our online showroom for a cost of $5/sample + shipping. All of our formats are available in our M830 Glaciar White glaze also available through our online showroom. Costs vary depending on the format selection. We also offer full sample sets of each of our color categories (Gloss, Matte, Oxide and Metallic) as well as full format sample sets. These are great tools for your design studio to have on hand for color matching or client meetings. Prices vary based on the sample set selection. All samples ship from the US via UPS withing 2-5 business days of purchasing.

No! These are for you to keep and reference for current and new projects.

Yes! Samples ship via DHL for international orders. Shipping cost is dependent on the final delivery location.

Yes, we can make custom samples. If you’re interested in a custom product, please contact us here.

Ordering

Once your is placed you will be notified your order is confirmed and starting production. After the stated lead time, you will again be notified when your order is shipping. Once your order has reached its final destination country and cleared customs, we will contact you to schedule final delivery. Yes, we ship anywhere in the world.

We ship every order via freight, which means your order is crated and delivered curbside on pallets. Depending on the size of your order, we ship via UPS, Fedex, DHL, and Air and Ocean Freight with various logistics partners. Residential orders are available to deliver with a liftgate. Any special delivery requests please inquire at the time of ordering.

Our tiles are manufactured in Portugal and ship directly from the factory to your final destination.

Yes, expedited shipping is offered in the form of Air Freight.

Yes, but additional storage fees will be incurred. Please contact orders@field-tiles.com if you require storage.

Lead Times

Lead times are typically 8-10 weeks, but this depends on your specifications and quantities. All lead times will be quoted at the time of ordering.

We cannot guarantee manufacturing lead times or transit times, but we will always do our best to stay on schedule and deliver in the allotted time discussed at the time of ordering.

In most cases, no. When we receive your order, we calculate the lead times based on your specifications, quantity and current factory production schedule. If you need your tile fast, please contact us at orders@field-tiles.com to discuss further.

Placing an Order

Samples are available to purchase directly from our online showroom. For volume orders, please use our online estimate request form to submit your estimate request. We will then work with you to make sure your estimate is in good order before sending you an invoice payable via credit card or ACH.

The ordering process is all online, however, in order to ensure your order is submitted correctly, we will start with an estimate, which if accepted, is then converted into an invoice for processing via credit card or ACH.

Yes, we charge sales tax in the US.

Generally, no. But if you need to make modifications to your order, please contact us at orders@field-tiles.com. Any modifications to your original order will incur additional costs.

Minimum order quantity is 30 sq ft (3 sqm).

Yes, beyond the 15% overage we recommend for installation tolerances, we also recommend ordering extra tile for future use. Especially if the installation is in a high traffic area, it is always a good idea to order extras in the event you need to replace at a later date.

If you find yourself short of tile during your installation and want to purchase more, please contact us at order@field-tiles.com with your order number and the additional quantity you are in need of. Due to the handmade nature of our tiles, we cannot guarantee that the glaze will match exactly as the first batch. Expedited lead times can be discussed at the time of ordering.
