Here at Field Tiles®, we know that ordering your tiles is a big commitment and anticipating when your tiles arrive is critical to the completion of your project. This article is here to give you a better understanding of how to plan your project schedule and prepare for your tile delivery.
Placing Your Field Tiles® Order
All of our Field Tiles® are made to order. This means we hold no stock, even of our most popular formats and finishes. What this means for you is that your order lead time is established from the time you place your order.
Lead times are published on every product page and range from product to product based on format and finish selection. Typical lead time is 5 – 6 weeks, but it is important to note that lead times are not always guaranteed.
We will always do our best to meet your deadlines and time constraints, however, delays can occur every now and then. We will make every effort to keep our lead times as described, but in the event there is a delay in production, we will keep you informed and updated every step of the process as your order is being made and completed for transit.
Product Specification and Lead Time Variance
Lead times are based on a variety of factors, including volume of order size, glaze specification, complexity of order, and production flow.
For example, our High Fire glazes are fired in the kiln three times. This requires additional time to fire and cool versus a gloss glaze which is fired twice – once as a bisque tile, and once again with the glaze applied.
Shipping and Transit Times
When ordering your Field Tiles®, keep in mind that our lead times do not include time of transit, so you will need to factor in additional time for delivery.
Once your Field Tiles® have been made and are ready for shipping, your order is packed for transit.
There are multiple ways to ship your tiles which will affect their delivery time. You have the options of delivery by air, sea, and land freight.
